It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our cherished Secretary and Board Member, Rebecca Taylor, on Friday, May 23rd, 2025.
Rebecca was more than a dedicated volunteer—she was a tireless advocate for families, a fierce believer in transparency and dignity in end-of-life planning, and a true workhorse whose passion for FCANC never wavered. She was also a living history book, carrying with her the full story of our organization. Her deep knowledge of where we came from, and her vision for where we could go, inspired us all.
Rebecca gave her time and heart generously, and her legacy will live on in the work we continue to do. Our thoughts are with her wife Gayle, her family and friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
“I’m so sad for everyone who knew and loved Rebecca. There are no words to fully express what Rebecca meant to Funeral Consumers Alliance North Carolina. Without her, we wouldn’t have the bylaws to amend or the templates she created to guide us. If anyone had a question about our organization, Rebecca either had the answer or knew exactly where to find it. I will deeply miss her and her wisdom.” –Kathryn Lairson, FCANC President
